Florence + The Machine artwork was inspired by transmissions of Florence Welch from one song to another. Florence dances barefoot on stage so I added an arched bare foot at the bottom of the cross. The full moon within the new moon is a prayer, may Florence be blessed one day to the next, throughout all seasons with that which she gives to all of us a hundred fold. The cross is a spiritual bridge for safe crossing in and out of life’s corridors. The fleur-de-lis at the top of the cross embracing the moons is her crown of peace and courage. May it keep Florence out of the ungodly woods on all her journey’s but if she cross and might you will at least it could serve to guide her from entry to exit without harm. The banner on the cervical spine of the cross is her banner of love, faith and hope. There is an inscription, it is unseen and yet believed, greatness like all trinities do not work without all three. Wings, they are for flight, elevation and safe landings of heart, mind, body and soul. |
